Title: Prevent Cancer: The HPV Vaccine
Speaker: To Nhu Huynh, MPH
Date: Tuesday, July 31, 2018
Time: Noon -1pm
Webinar Description: In the United States, an estimated 14 million persons are newly infected annually with human papillomavirus (HPV), making this infection the nation’s most common sexually transmitted infection. In 2009, nearly 35,000 HPV-attributable cancers were reported in the United States. The CDC Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices currently recommends routine HPV vaccination for all persons aged 11–12 years. Developed by The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, the Prevent Cancer: The HPV Vaccine program educates parents and health educators about HPV, HPV-related cancers, risk factors, and the HPV vaccine.
This webinar will discuss risk factors for HPV-related cancers, and vaccinations/screening guidelines. Webinar attendees will then be able to identify resources that are available for HPV vaccination services.
