Conference Theme: Embracing Change for Health & Wellness: Solutions to Strengthen Public Health Education and Promotion Abstracts are due by 11:59pm on Saturday, May 31, 2025 Sub-themes: 1) Leadership, Mentoring, and Strengthening the Workforce: This track highlights the importance of leadership and mentoring in shaping future health education professionals. It will explore strategies for developing emerging talent, fostering continuous learning, and creating effective mentorship programs. Abstracts are encouraged on innovative approaches to building the health education leadership pipeline, workforce recruitment and retention, diversity, and successful coaching programs. 2) Technology and Communications: This track explores how technology and infodemiology (the study of digital content's impact on public health) are transforming health education and promotion. The rise of mobile apps, AI, and shifting perceptions of credible health information have reshaped the roles of health educators and communicators. Abstracts are encouraged on topics such as infodemiology in teaching, research, and practice, new skills to combat misinformation, the impact of social media on mental health, ethical issues in AI, and strategies to promote equity and inclusion while addressing mis/disinformation. 3) Program Planning and Evaluation: This track focuses on best practices in program planning and evaluation for effective public health practice. Topics include objective setting, strategic engagement, evidence-based activities, sustainability, and cross-collaborative communication. Abstracts are also encouraged on evaluation strategies, stakeholder engagement, evaluation design, data visualization, and quality improvement. Abstract Types: 1) Concurrent/Plenary Session: This type of presentation is 20 minutes for each presenter panelist. This single session may include a panel of up to three speakers. Proposals must include: (1) Title, (2) two to three learning objectives, (3) 300-word limit abstract, (4) list of audio/visual needs, and (5) a brief biographical sketch (one paragraph) for each presenting author. 2) Poster Session: Poster sessions will illustrate research findings/projects during lunch/breaks. Poster abstracts must include: (1) Title, (2) one to two learning objectives, (3) 300-word limit abstract, and (4) a brief biographical sketch (one paragraph) for each presenting author. 3) Workshop: This type of presentation is 45 minutes long and its purpose is to promote skill building or facilitate an interactive activity (i.e., workshop where individuals are grouped into teams and have facilitated discussions). Workshop abstracts must include: (1) Title, (2) one to two learning objectives, (3) 300-word limit abstract (with a brief explanation of how you plan to engage the audience), and (4) a brief biographical sketch (one paragraph) for each workshop leader. |
