Nominate yourself or a fellow TSOPHE Colleague for a 2023 Texas SOPHE Award! The Texas Society for Public Health Education is accepting nominations for the Helen S. Hill Distinguished Service Award and the Dorothy Hussey Excellence in Health Education Practice Award. All nominations must be submitted by August 18th, 2023 by 11:59 PM CDT. Awards will be presented at the 2023 TSOPHE Conference in Austin, Texas on Saturday, October 28. Nominees do not have to be present to win.

About the Helen S. Hill Distinguished Service Award:
This award recognizes individuals who have made significant and lasting contributions to TSOPHE and the profession of health education or public health.
Nomination Requirements:
- Nomination letter by TSOPHE member in good standing
- Current resume or CV of the nominee
- Significant contributions to health education
- Professional recognition (honors/awards, special appointments, offices held, research writing, etc.)
- Results and impact of the nominee's work
- Leadership within TSOPHE
- Must be current TSOPHE member
About the Dorothy Huskey Excellence in Health Education Practice Award:
This award recognizes early career health educators (less than five years) who have distinguished themselves as promising health educators through leadership, creativity, involvement in the profession, and health education practice in any setting (e.g. school, worksite, university, community, health care).
Nomination Requirements:
- Nomination letter by TSOPHE member in good standing
- Current resume or CV of the nominee
- Creativity and/or innovation in health education to address a public health issue in the community, workplace, school, or health care
- Advancement in the health education profession through service or leadership
- Individual accomplishments in leadership in current or previous employment
- Must be current TSOPHE member
