This month, we're excited to spotlight Sabrina Stanley, TSOPHE's Board Secretary! Learn more about her public health journey, what inspires her work, and advice she has for those pursuing a career in public health.
We asked, “What inspired you to serve on the TSOPHE Board?”
Sabrina Stanley: Health education has been the foundation of my public health career. After serving in the U.S. Air Force, I earned degrees in Health Education and Public Health and went on to support immunization programs, infectious disease response, emergency preparedness, and public health operations. Throughout responses to COVID-19, mpox, measles, and other public health challenges, I saw firsthand how health educators help build trust, communicate risk, and connect communities with resources. I joined the TSOPHE Board to give back to the profession and support opportunities for networking, professional development, and collaboration across Texas.
“What has been the most rewarding aspect of serving as Board Secretary?”
Sabrina Stanley: The most rewarding aspect of serving as Board Secretary has been supporting TSOPHE's growth and mission while collaborating with dedicated public health professionals from across the state.
